An AI agent on the official WhatsApp Business Cloud API that answers questions from your FAQ sheet, keeps the conversation context and logs booking requests.
Free to use and modify. In n8n: Workflows → Import from file, then add your credentials. No sign-up needed.
How it works
- A customer sends a WhatsApp message to your business number.
- Non-text messages are filtered out (extend it later for voice notes and images).
- The AI agent reads your FAQ sheet as a tool and answers in a short, friendly reply.
- Window memory keeps the last 8 messages per phone number, so follow-up questions make sense.
- When the customer wants to book, the agent collects name, date and time and appends them to your Bookings sheet.
- The reply is sent back through the WhatsApp Cloud API.

Set it up in 10 minutes
- Create a Meta app with WhatsApp, and connect the WhatsApp trigger and send nodes with your credentials.
- Replace YOUR_PHONE_NUMBER_ID with your WhatsApp phone number ID.
- Connect OpenAI (or swap in Claude or Gemini) and Google Sheets.
- Create a Google Sheet with two tabs, FAQ and Bookings, and paste its URL into both tools.
- Edit the agent’s system message with your business name, tone and rules.
Good to know
Meta charges per message by category and country, and since 1 October 2026 service messages are billable too. Replies outside the 24-hour customer service window need approved templates. Read our WhatsApp AI agent guide before going live.
