Consumer electronics and smart device development
From first PCB to companion app: connected products people use every day.
SixSol designs electronics, firmware and apps for consumer products. We work with startups and brands that need one team to take a device from concept to a production-ready design.
What we have built
- Smart home controller: ESP32 lighting and fan control with a touchscreen, scheduling and sensors.
- Smart humidifier: ESP32 electronics with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth control from a mobile app.
- Smart luggage: fingerprint lock, weight sensing and Bluetooth notifications.
- Wireless mouse electronics: STM32 input processing, charging and battery monitoring.
- Smart shoe: a flexible pressure-sensing PCB with nRF52832 Bluetooth.
- Six-cell balance charger: USB-PD input, cell balancing and protection.
How we take a device to market-ready
- Choose the platform for power, cost and wireless needs (see nRF52 vs ESP32).
- Prototype the riskiest part first on real hardware.
- Design the PCB for manufacturing, with test points and production test firmware.
- Build the companion app and safe OTA updates.
Frequently asked questions
Can you design the PCB as well as the firmware?
Yes. Our portfolio includes 2–4 layer PCB layouts, flexible PCBs and custom carrier boards, alongside the firmware and apps.
Which chips do you use for consumer devices?
Mostly ESP32 for Wi-Fi devices, nRF52 for Bluetooth wearables and STM32 for control-heavy products, chosen per product.
Do you handle manufacturing?
We prepare manufacturing-ready designs and test firmware and work with your manufacturer. Enclosure tooling and certification are scoped separately.
